IPL 2020: RR vs KXIP Preview – Sharjah set for another run-feast

Steve Smith’s Rajasthan Royals and KL Rahul’s Kings XI Punjab will take on each other at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Match 9 of IPL 2020. Both the teams are coming on the back of a win in their previous game of the tournament. Rajasthan defeated Chennai Super Kings by 16 runs, while KXIP decimated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 97 runs after losing their opening game to DC in super over.

Captain KL Rahul batted exceptionally well in the previous game with a scintillating 132*. However, they still seem to have some issues with their middle order, with the poor form of Pooran and Maxwell. Their bowling was exceptionally good in the powerplay, and they absolutely dominated the proceedings. Rajasthan scored the highest score of the tournament, with Sanju Samson and Steve Smith batting exceptionally well. However, their bowling did not impress much. Except for Jofra Archer and Rahul Tewatia, the rest seemed lacklustre.

Kings XI Punjab:

Punjab isn’t expected to tinker much with the winning combination. Young leggie Ravi Bishnoi has demonstrated interest in bagging the prized wicket of Steve Smith. KL also gave an update regarding the future of Universe Boss Chris Gayle saying, “He will come in at the right time.”
