IPL 2021: The Indore Express running on fast track – Avesh Khan

Browsing through the Purple Cap holders list of IPL 2021, you’ll find a fresh name at the second spot. It is Avesh Khan. The 24-year-old pacer has been extremely impressive in the 2021 edition of the IPL thus far.

In the 7 matches that he has played thus far, the Delhi Capitals’ pacer has already scalped 13 wickets at an incredible average of 14.77. What’s most impressive with Avesh is the fact that he has managed to scalp at least one wicket in every single match that he has played. And, his economy rate has not crossed 8 runs per over in any of them.

In fact, Pant has thrown the ball to Avesh in either the 19th or the 20th over of the innings on a regular basis in the 14th edition of the IPL, and Khan has responded to his captain by doing a wonderful job at the death.

In the encounter against the Punjab Kings on 18th April 2021, Avesh Khan bowled the 19th over and gave away 9 runs, and picked up the wicket of Nicholas Pooran. In the match against SRH on 25th April 2021, Khan bowled the 19th over, with the Orange Army needing 28 to win. And in the circumstances of the match, he did a tidy job by giving away 12 runs and picked up the wicket of Vijay Shankar.

In the encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side on 27th April 2021, Avesh Khan gave away 9 runs in the 19th over of the innings and considering that he bowled 4 out of the 6 balls in the over to a rampaging AB de Villiers, the job is a highly commendable one.

The 24-year-old pacer has done an excellent job so far for the Delhi Capitals, especially in the death overs. And, if he can continue in the same vein, Avesh Khan will be a name to reckon with in the future.
