Sachin Tendulkar features in Sevilla FC’s “Never Surrender” video

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has featured in a Christmas-special video recently released by Sevilla Football Club. The Spanish professional football club is based in Seville, the capital and largest city of Andalusia, Spain. Tendulkar is joined by other successful Spanish sportspeople which include Rafael Nadal. Notably, Tendulkar is the only non-Spanish sportsperson to be included in the list.

Sevilla FC plays in Spanish football’s top flight, La Liga. Sevilla is one of the most successful clubs at the European level, winning the UEFA Europa League six times, more than any other European club. It is also Spain’s oldest sporting club solely devoted to football.

The club’s aim is to remember 2020 positively with a spot campaign that shows that, despite the adversities that may arise, with class, effort and courage, great objectives can be achieved. The key, never believing the match is lost and never surrendering to the circumstances. Thus their latest season greetings video is titled “Never Surrender”.

Earlier this year, Tendulkar received the prestigious Laureus Award in the Best sporting moment category. The moment captured the legendary cricketer hoisted atop the shoulders of his teammates after winning the 2011 World Cup for India. While introducing Tendulkar in their video, Sevilla FC honours him by adding, “He embodies the passion of an entire country”.

Other than Tendulkar and Nadal, the Sevilla FC video also features the Spanish handball team, badminton champion Carolina Marin, MotoGP winner Joan Mir and Paralympic athlete Desire Vila.
